2016 Year In Review - Naturally A.C.T.

Wow! Can you believe how fast this year has flown by?

Two thousand sixteen has been a year of laughter, disappointments, and wonderful memories. This year has truly been a joy as I continue to pursue my passion for Natural Hair, Health, and Photography. I feel so blessed to be doing what I love to do!!

In January, I was a Guest Panelist for Hustlers In Heels GR. This event was designed for the female dreamers, doers, and entrepreneurs who were in need of a platform to network with local successful women who are making a positive impact in the Grand Rapids community of business.

In March, I hosted an Interactive How To Workshop, where attendees had the opportunity learn about how to choose the correct hair products for their hair, get hands on experience trying out styling techniques including a twist-out, a quick up-do, how to use curlformers, and more.

In July, Textures & Tea was all about making connections and networking. The goal of this event was to bring together like-minded people for candid conversations about Hair & Beauty.

In November, Co-founder Della Marie Levi and I hosted the 2nd Annual Kinky Hair Connection, which was a half day event that included Music, Workshops, Giveaways, Refreshments, Local Vendors, Panel Discussion, Special Guests, and so much more. We had a #NaturallyFabulous time!!

If you can’t change the outcome of a particular event or situation, it’s best to let go and move on. There is no use in worrying and stressing over things that are beyond your control. Seek wisdom, grace, and understanding. Choose to show love and compassion!

I look forward to starting the year with some relaxation, rejuvenation, and fun! When possible, Mini Vacations are a great way to start off the year. As a West Coast girl living the cold Midwest, 70° weather is necessary especially when you add in good food, the beach, and a few Curlfriends!
